<p>John Marshall (September 24, 1755 – July 6, 1835) was an American statesman, jurist, and Founding Father who served as the fourth Chief Justice of the United States from 1801 until his death in 1835. He is known for establishing the principles of American constitutional law and significantly shapingthe role of the Supreme Court as a powerful branch of government. Marshall’s decisions helped lay the foundation of the American legal system and affirmed the judiciary’srole in interpreting the Constitution. </p><p></p>
