We explore people’s journeys through hip hop, growing up in the 90s and into adulthood. We gush over times in hip hop we can’t get enough of. We love on the culture, the state that it's been in, and what it’s becoming. Discussing struggles with not always being loved back by a culture that we love so dearly. We get into those same things with r&b. We look over hip hop and r&b and where they often meet. And we try to explain why we fell in both. We explain why we feel the culture is in good hands. This is for music enthusiasts who want to connect their story to the ongoing rich history of innovation and resilience. I’m Tam C, welcoming you to A Black Music Appreciation Podcast!

My music journey started here...
I tell my story of getting into music as a child. I started in hip hop but in an unusual way. I grew up in church but also didn't listen to a lot of gospel music. This is an example of the kind of stuff I want to hear from you as listeners. This also serves as a way for you to get to know me your host as we start this journey of getting to know each other and learning from each other.

The Fear of Missing Out
On this bonus episode we talk about fomo and you get a peak into one of my interests as an example. Que Ne-Yo's Because of You. I had an addiction buying Funko Pops mainly and I nerd out to say the least. I get back to talking about concerts again and what it costs you. Finding magical moments in being content and present.
