AI as Experimentation with Consciousness: Alexis Finet
Fascinating dialogue with Alexis Finet, Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Instruction of French, and French Language Program Director at Vanderbilt University. A native of France, he has taught languages and music over the last two decades, from younger audiences to seniors, nationally and internationally: in France, Colombia, Japan, South Mississippi, North Florida, and more recently, in Nashville. You would like to find out more about Alexis' work (https://as.vanderbilt.edu/french-italian/faculty/graduate-faculty/alexis-finet-lecturer-in-french.)
In this episode, we get to practice having more questions than answers and still have a simple "what to do next in our classroom". Does teaching with AI support students' critical thinking- structural thinking, and creativity with "synthesizing" from the bigger picture, and what AI is not to replace? Can AI or avatar technology play a role in ecological leadership "doing what we failed to do"? Is AI "mirroring" us? A complex issue leading to the Opportunities we face when teaching with Climate Awarness. More on Oddience2030 work (https://oddience2030.com/en/bienvenue-english/).
