The Extreme Right Today – A seminar with Cas Mudde and Karin Pettersson
Detta samtal spelades in på Kulturhuset i Stockholm 14 juni 2023. I rapporten Left behind by the working class? Social Democracy’s Electoral Crisis and the Rise of the Radical Right ifrågasätter Cas Mudde tillsammans med Tarik Abou-Chadi och Reto Mitteregger påståendet att arbetarklassen skulle ha övergivet progressiva partier för att istället rösta på radikalhögern. Rapporten publiceras i samband med seminariet på svenska med ett nyskrivet förord av Cas Mudde. I ett samtal med Karin Pettersson utforskar Cads Mudde de högerradikala rörelsernas ideologi och organisation, och vilken roll de spelar i svensk och europeisk politik. Rapporten är ett samarbete med FES Nordic countries. Cas Mudde är professor i internationella relation vid University of Georgia i USA och professor vid centret för extremismforskning (C-REX) vid Oslos universitet. Hans senaste bok är The Far Right Today (Polity 2019). Karin Pettersson är kulturchef på Aftonbladet och tillsammans med Martin Gelin författare till boken Internet är trasigt – Silicon Valley och demokratins kris (Natur & Kultur 2018). Samtalsledare: Lisa Pelling, statsvetare och tillsammans med Johanna Lindell författare till boken Det svenska missnöjet (Atlas 2021).
