In this Episode, we are joined by Coach Prime, also known as Deion Sanders, about his life, career, and the importance of winning in every area of life. He teaches us how to dominate and elevate both on and off the field. Coach Prime shares his journey from growing up in a challenging environment to becoming a successful athlete, broadcaster, and coach. He emphasizes the importance of believing in oneself, preparing for opportunities, and having a clear vision or “rabbit” to chase. He also discusses the importance of surrounding yourself with people who challenge and inspire you towards growth. Coach Prime encourages us to dream big, work on our weaknesses, and stay focused on our goals.

Enjoy this very special and inspiring episode, You’re about to get a major confidence boost!

Episode Notes: How to Win On and Off the Field

1. Understand the Power of a Relationship With God

Coach Prime is fiercely devoted to his faith in Jesus Christ, but it’s not just a commitment. The power in his life comes from the relationship. He shared with us that every step he has been prompted to take and every promotion he has seen has come from his vibrant relationship with Jesus. He had his game and his natural ability, but his relationship with God kept him in a sequence of success. It maintained and sustained him.

“I always feel like I'm in the right place. I always hear that voice that comes - that serene voice. That's why I don't have noise in my life…because the God I serve whispers to me.... see if I’ve got noise, I can't hear it. If I’ve got distractions, I can't see it. If I get chaos, I can't feel it. He whispers to me. He doesn't yell. It's just the calmness and serenity of that relationship. And that's why I have joy every day. I don't make one day much larger than the other one because every day is a blessing for me…You can't stop me. You can't contain me. You can't eliminate me from talking about my Lord of Savior…. that’s why He trusts me to put me on those stages.”

2. Even When You’re Broken, Keep On Moving

Everyone faces something difficult in life. No matter what you are going through, you’ve got to keep moving. The enemy's trick is to get you to be still and silent so he can put a bullseye on your chest and get a good shot at you. You’ve got to keep moving!

“The strongest steel is forged in the hottest fire. You should be thankful right now it is hot because that means you have strength. God will never allow anything to overtake you or overcome you or something that's mightier than He is…Don't stop in the middle and take selfies of yourself going through hell… you gotta keep going and keep walking.”

3. Everything You Need is Already Inside of You

You have everything you need to succeed right now! You just need to get up and awaken it! The hard things we go through awaken passion and purpose inside of us and if we use that, it takes us where we are supposed to be. When you can harness that passion, people will be hanging on every word you say. Take care of yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually. Deion’s shirt said it all,

If you look good, you feel good,

if you feel good, you play good,

if you play good, they pay good.

4. Confidence Comes From Preparedness

Growing up in a small church, I came to believe that humility meant I had to hold myself back. I had to break that mentality and learn you can be humble and confident at the same time. Deion models this quality so well. After attending that John Maxwell event and hearing Coach Prime speak, I left with so much confidence that I went out and landed a couple of multimillion-dollar deals within just days! Some of us need to stop being timid. Stop holding back. You can have both confidence and humility operating at the same time.

Deion shared that he carries confidence because he is prepared.

“I'm in my purpose. I feel like I'm walking in my anointing that everything is going forward because I'm in God's will for everything in my life… I'm prepared and I'm confident that I'm going to knock it out of the park. If I wasn't prepared, I wouldn't walk like this. I wouldn't have that inner knowing… But the people that take it for something else…allow my confidence to offend their insecurity.”

Whoa! That statement really hits! Sometimes, other people’s confidence can rub us the wrong way. But we have to get over that! We need to decide to face our own insecurities. Stop holding back because you don’t want to come across as arrogant. That mentality will keep you from succeeding in your God-given abilities.

Deion was confident on that football field because he was prepared. He worked hard, and he knew his game. He was ready for every play.

Are you prepared for your game? Are you ready for every play?

5. You Need People Who Make You Level Up

This is one of my favorite points. Proverbs 27:17 says that iron sharpens iron. That means that we need people around us who challenge us to go further and to do better.

“If you are the smartest person in your life, you are a fool. If you're the most articulate, the richest, most profound person you are a fool! I need people around me that challenge me - that ignite me to go to the next level… If you’re going to measure yourself against someone else, you better make sure they're the best. Quit measuring yourself with somebody in the office that's just barely doing a little bit better than you… If you're going to measure yourself, go for the darn best.”

The truth is, I could go on and on sharing all I learned from my time with Deion Sanders. What a privilege to sit and learn from Coach Prime. I couldn’t help but leave the interview with a mega dose of courage and confidence to go out there and prepare to win, and I know he will have the same effect on you when you pick up his riveting book. Go to joincoachprime.com and grab his new book today!

I know you carry a message that will impact people in ways that only you can. Have you harnessed that passion into a clear message? Have you prepared? Are you letting your insecurities keep you from using your talent and sharing your story, or from launching that product that you know will change people’s lives for good?

Pete

___

BACKSTAGE with Pete Vargas III is a show dedicated to bringing you powerful content, top-tier guests, and practical takeaways that will help you build your life and your business through stages!

Also, get closer to backstage, on Zoom!
In this episode, we take a deep dive into all things goal-setting to get you off and running in the right direction with clear and achievable goals for 2024.

Who better to take us through the goal-setting process than accomplished CEO, acclaimed author, keynote speaker, and host of the “All It Takes is a Goal” podcast…Mr. Jon Acuff.

Whether you are currently on track and crushing your goals, or you didn’t do anything to prepare for this new year and you are wandering around aimlessly, we all have something to learn from this goal-setting guru.

1) Figure out something you enjoy, not something you have to fix.

A goal is a way to fix a problem in life, but if we feel like we’re not doing well at accomplishing that goal, we can experience shame. Shame makes us pull back, not move forward. Every goal is a gift and an opportunity to step into new growth and success. Reframe your goal in a way that actually makes you want to spend time doing it, rather than avoiding it.

2) Find something you love so much that Netflix becomes boring.

It’s not about committing to watch less TV or being more disciplined. It’s all about finding something that gives you so much joy that you’d rather work on that thing than check out with distractions. Joy leads to discipline and persistence. So you want to move past what you’re supposed to be doing and get into what you enjoy doing.

3) Frequently review your goals.

A half- hour review at the end of the month is worth 10 hours of productivity. Review your goals and ask yourself what worked and what didn't work. If you still haven’t set goals, it’s not too late! Stop telling yourself you missed some golden opportunity and start now.

4) Write your goals down.

Paper shrinks fear! When ideas are just floating around your head, they can be confusing, chaotic, and overwhelming. But when you get your thoughts written down on paper, the things you are worried about get a little bit smaller and you can start to see what they really are. Grab a piece of paper and spend 10 minutes writing down a couple of goals. That's enough to get started!

5) Get in the potential zone.

There are three performance zones that people will fall into when it comes to goal-setting. The comfort zone (or pajama zone) where you have no goals, no action, and no progress, the chaos zone (or monster energy zone) where you’re hyper-motivated and unfocused, and finally, the potential zone, where you have the right goals moving at the right pace. Be careful about swinging between these zones - from no goals to excessive goals. Know where you are and find that middle potential zone.

6) Beware of competing goals but look for overlapping goals.

When setting goals, be aware of goals that are at odds with one another. If you have a goal to go on the road all year as a speaker and another goal to be a better father and to be with the kids all year, you may find yourself frustrated. An example of goals that overlap is the goal to listen to more audiobooks this year, and the goal of walking more. These goals overlap and work together for success.

7) Refine your goals and adjust as needed.

“New Seasons deserve new scorecards.”

It's unfair to not adjust our goals to meet the demands of the seasons of life. Don’t get locked in and legalistic. Rigid goals are fragile goals. Don’t be afraid to revisit your goals and adjust as needed.

—

BACKSTAGE with Pete Vargas III is a brand new show dedicated to bringing you powerful content, top-tier guests, and practical takeaways- that will help you build your life and business…all through stages!

Go to backstagewithpv3.com and subscribe to be the first to know when a new guest is scheduled.
In this episode, I am going to share how to win in ALL areas of life this year.

It’s time to strip off insecurities and self-doubt so you can run at full speed. In this first episode of Season 2, I want to build some framework that will help you to dominate in 2024, but I don’t want you to just win in one area this year.

I want to help you become a five-dimensional winner in 2024.

I’m going to share with you a process that my wife and I walk through every year which we call our wellspring wheel. This is a process that helps us take an honest inventory of five areas of our lives. All five of these areas need our full attention and effort. There was a time in my life when my wife felt like she was holding on by a thread with our kids in tow because I was out of balance. Yes, I was experiencing some success in business, but I was bleeding out in other areas which made it difficult to enjoy the successes I was seeing. I’ve learned that I need to inventory in all five of these dimensions.

The first area I rate is my faith. For me, this involves assessing how much time I spend in prayer and in the Word of God. How much time did I spend developing and walking in my spiritual gifts? How much time did I spend listening to God? Maybe for you, it’s spirituality but for me, my faith is the most important thing in my life.

The second dimension is my health. This consists of my physical, mental, emotional, and recreational health. Recreational health simply means did you have fun? This is a category that most people miss, but it’s so important that we are taking time to enjoy life!

The third dimension is relationships. What relationships matter most to you? For me, I rate my relationship with my spouse, my kids, my extended family, and my friends and community.

The fourth dimension is wealth. Making, managing, and multiplying money. I'm super grateful to Grant Cardone for modeling for me the difference between making money and multiplying money. Making money often takes your time. Multiplying doesn't take your time outside of what it takes to create the process or find the vehicle. I did my due diligence on one of Grant's properties last year and decided I wanted to invest in it. Now, every month I get a check on my returns with zero time invested. That's the multiplication bucket. Some of you need to spend some more time in the multiplication bucket.

The fifth dimension is my business. After I take a personal inventory of my business, I use this very simple plan to reverse engineer my year by determining the stages I will book to grow my business. I want to share that exercise with you today.

Now go to 10Xstages.com/2024gameplan for the whole life assessment and your 2024 stage game plan. You'll be able to download both of those for free.

This is the year to shed the things that keep you from running at full speed. This is the year to set your intentions, not just on wealth or business, but on all five dimensions so you are truly winning in life.

- Pete

In 2003, his life was deeply impacted by one man on a stage–and since then he has dedicated his life to the power of stages. Since then- he and his team have booked over 25,000 stages worldwide and generated tens of millions of dollars of revenue through those stages. In 2016, he founded Advance Your Reach–a company with a mission to impact one billion lives through one million stages across seven spheres of influence.

Pete believes your Signature Talk is the most powerful marketing tool you have and that stages are the fastest way to grow your business. Through years of testing, he’s perfected the “Stage to Scale” system – a three-part framework that helps speakers, entrepreneurs, financial advisors, service providers, nonprofits, small business owners, and many others land speaking engagements and leverage stages to grow their businesses and organizations.

Pete and his team have helped thousands of clients implement their system – people like Russell Brunson and the ClickFunnels team, Grant Cardone, Dean Graziosi, Chalene Johnson, Michael Hyatt, Daymond John, JJ Virgin, Dave Ramsey, Garrett White, and Joel Marion.
