In this episode, we get to know Chloe Lewis — artist, academic, and part of the artist collaboration Lewis & Taggart, as well as the Museum of Longing and Failure (MOLAF). In recent years, she has also worked as an associate professor at KMD, the Faculty of Art, Music and Design at the University of Bergen. Lewis is behind the research group Unsettling Hierarchies, which explores the hierarchies that exist within academia, and uses perspectives from the art world to question what academia is, and what it could become. We talk about the relationship between art and academia, whether they should function differently, and what they might learn from one another. We also discuss collaboration, the value of creating connections between people, and the importance of building relationships across institutions, disciplines, and fields — both inside and outside academia.
