赤崁樓，位於臺灣臺南府城。前身為1653年荷治時期於赤崁行省興建之歐式城塞，又稱「普羅民遮城」在地人稱為「番仔樓」，曾為全台灣島的商業中心，至清代已經傾圮ㄆㄧˇ，僅留部分殘蹟 [2]今列為國定古蹟。荷據時期的荷蘭人在赤嵌地方建了一座具有防衛功能的普羅民遮城(赤嵌樓)。到了明鄭時期鄭成功登台趕走荷蘭人，且進駐普羅民遮城，設置承天府於赤嵌樓。後因鄭成功遷移至安平熱蘭遮城，普羅民遮城被當成放置軍火庫使用，一直到清朝將台灣納入版圖為止。清朝時民眾在普羅民遮城旁建築了一座大士殿，荷式城堡旁首次出現中國清式樓閣建築。後來日軍進駐台灣，將赤嵌樓改為陸軍衛戍醫院。到了1935年赤嵌樓被指定為重要史蹟。光復後，幾經整修，將原有的木造結構，改為鋼筋混泥土，將主要入口由西改為南向，民國71年被列為國家的一級古蹟。
