Sabbatical or Suicide, which is the name of my first podcast, was the beginning of everything we are doing here - TOGETHER - at Coffee With Kam today. From the moment the idea for that show dropped from my destiny and into my soul, 11 years ago exactly, I knew it was the beginning of something exceptional and most importantly, something far beyond myself. I'm so grateful that I didn't have a clue then... of the amount of struggle, doubt, fear, pain and self betrayal that I would still need to experience, to fully bring that destiny to life. And, I'd go through it all again...for the gift of getting to be a part of watching each of you continue to find each other, and to find this precious space that is Coffee with Kam - Unfiltered where we don't have to look or act or be any other way than exactly who we are, right now, together in today, Showing up with all the perfectly imperfect pieces of ourselves as we are - fully and completely, isn't just okay, it's the only way, it's the BEAN WAY! In 2023, I quit building this community...not because I wanted to, but because i chose booze and the false security of a woman who claimed to love me and my kids... over myself. Thank the lesbians God I did. Sometimes in life, it is what feels like our very worst decisions, our most painful experiences that ultimately are the very turns required to reveal the only door that actually leads to our destiny. The irony is, she did everything in her power to destroy me and all she actually did was light the only path that would lead me the courage, the confidence and the motivation to pick my ass up, to get sober, to tell my pride to fuck off and to humbly come back and try again at the ONE thing in my entire life that I have never wanted to quit. That thing is this, it's you, it's all of us here at Coffee With Kam. Thank you beans, for seeing me. I see you, and you're all fucking hot...by the only measure of any damn thing that actually matters, you're all drop dead gorgeous IN HEART, the only part of us that will keep beating long after we no longer have the luxury of aging together.    I can't think myself into a new life. I must step into it. What is the BEANTEAM? The BEANTEAM is a movement of women and Q people in the second half of our lives (40+) who are ready to, literally, take that step and commit — to ourselves, and to our team — to MOVE our bodies.    Big news, beans. 1. Our Last Sunday LIVE will be this Sunday, July 19th at 10am EST on TikTok 2. Our LAST Sunday After Party will ***** START at NOON instead of the usual 11am as the LIVE may go a little longer, and I’m going to need a breather after what I am about to share. 3. Thank you.     I'm Not Here for Cookies & a Makeout (Ep 8)

    I came back from the beach with sand in my panties, a little too much sun on my face, and a realization I can’t shake: I didn’t get sober and quit nicotine so that I could eat cookies. And I haven’t spent the last six years with an unrelenting passion for being a part of y’all finding a pal or a makeout buddy (though hear me now, GOD I LOVE IT WHEN YOU DO!). I started Coffee With Kam to be a part of something bigger than me, and to build a space where we can all inspire each other to be more, feel more, say more, and live more than any one of us could ever do, say, or experience alone. So I’m thinking about creating a daily Bean Team space here at Coffee Unfiltered — not a fitness cult, not toxic positivity, not perfection — just real lesbians/Qs aging together while sharing one thing each morning that we are going to commit to for ourselves. One thing we find difficult to do when the only person we have to answer to is ourselves… but can not only do, but feel inspired to do, when we know there’s another bean out here cheering us on and looking for a little motivation to do her/their THING as well. Mountain bikes. Morning walks. Going to bed early. Not boozin’. Skipping the cookies. Calling an old friend who’s been on our to-do list too long. Healing. Dancing. Flirting. Surviving. Thriving.     Showing Up, Fully, as We Are in a World of Highlights is Not Easy (Ep 6)

    The concept I am referring to here, is how I started my podcast, Sabbatical or Suicide, which by the way is available here on my Coffee unfiltered Patreon page. Go to collections and click on my podcast. If you can access this post, you can access the entire show, it’s a hell of a ride just make sure to check your judgment at the door. Your opinion of me may shift after listening to it. At any rate, even though I believe this, it is sometimes hard to live it. That is, only showing others, the highlight reels of our lives does not add the kind of value I want to be adding to the world or two other women’s experiences of, of one another, or of yourselves. I want to always represent, the complete picture of this life experience… which ain’t all roses! So, yes, I wanted to delete the video. I posted yesterday and I was almost about to do that. And, the whole point of what we are doing here is Walk in the walk. It’s one thing to talk to talk. It’s another thing to walk the walk… all parts of our ourselves, even the ones that we aren’t quite so proud of are still parts of ourselves and we don’t need to apologize for those parts. Noticing, growing, and reframing is all part of the ride. It’s a weird thing to expose my personal experience to, strangers in essence. And, so many times in my life I would’ve given anything to find a woman like me who I could relate to so that I didn’t feel so alone with all the sides of myself so here I am y’all. I do look forward to the comments where you begin sharing your own experiences with this stuff and with yourselves, if and when you care to reveal… I will do everything in my power to continue to allow this to be the safe space to do so. Intern, you just might find the least likely friendships will blossom from your sharing. And if that isn’t the whole point of why I roll Coffee, there isn’t one! Love on, here we grow again. Coffee With Kam Unfiltered, is going to be a real and raw unfolding journey happening in real time. It is not going to to have the bells and whistles of fine tune editing, scripting around audio files and 80 hours of work for every episode you hear. Some episodes will be long, rambling and frankly probably impossible to follow. Others will be inspiring, short and concise. All of them will be the truth. My long-term vision here, is to invite you beans on as guests. To provide the space I envisioned when I started Sabbatical or Suicide, the space and platform for YOU to share your stories too.
