Tragedy after Lebanon explosion

Hello. Good Evenig once Again, I'm by Name Abdulkadir Bello Dan sabaru the General manager of Dan sabaru Fm Nigeria, todays News And UPDATES. NOW About 100 people have died and over 4000 wounded, whilst search and rescue continue to search for more survivors under the rubble following two massive explosions that happened in Beirut, Lebanon on Tuesday.   Videos and images of the explosions in question surfaced on social media and left many horrified. Over half the city was left damaged as the explosion sent shock waves across the city, causing widespread damage as far as the outskirts of the capital.  One of the videos showed the shock waves from the explosion. In the video we are able to grasp the impact of the shock waves as they spread across the city, shattering buildings and windows. We even see the person taking the video falling to the ground as the waves approach his/her building which appeared to be miles away.   Another heart breaking video that surfaced was of a father trying to shield and protect his son from this unexpected blast, and lastly more videos that were trending were from people driving around the area. Although the cause of the explosion was not immediately clear, Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab, along with other Lebanese officials have said that the cause of the explosion was 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate, a common industrial chemical used in fertilizer and as a component in mining explosives, that had been stored in a warehouse at the port. The ammonium nitrate allegedly exploded after/ following a fire at the port. Lebanese President Michel Aoun described this as a ‘catastrophe’ and has called for help from neighboring countries.  “Over 300 000 people have been left homeless but we are working towards providing shelter food and water for them,” said President Aoun. The World Health Organisation warehouse in Dubai has sent medical trauma kits to assist, Germany is preparing to assist by sending a team of search and rescue experts, France, Qatar, Iraq and Kuwait are also shipping supplies, whilst Red cross is assisting and working with the Lebanese health ministry to help set up morgues. Heartfelt messages and prayers have been conveyed on social media to all the people affected in Lebanon.  From Opera News Hub The views expressed in this article are the writer's, they do not reflect the views of Opera News. Please report any fake news or defamatory statements to feedback-newshub@operanewshub.com
