Hosted by Renee, we explore topics centered around accessibility in schools and help other teachers know they are not alone in helping their students with disabilities. As a student with a hearing loss going to school to become an Elementary Educator, I too understand the struggles and challenges that many educators do have to go through to help their students with disabilities be successful. With my hearing loss, I often find myself in a community of educators who sometimes have difficulty learning how to support students with disabilities, and with my expertise, I can guide teachers in helping open their minds to more disabilities in helping them to become successful. Deafness: What Can Deaf People Do and Not Do?

In this episode, join your host, Renee as she dives into different stories of what she has been able to do and not do due to her hearing loss and how she may differ from the deaf world in terms of using the phone or even getting a job! She mentions her father as he learned ASL to communicate with her while she was younger and learning how to speak, as she went through 10 years of speech therapy, and even her boyfriend wants to learn ASL as well to communicate with her! Deaf Student's Guide: Transitioning from High School to College

In this epsiode, Renee talks about how her experiences transitioning from high school life to college life was, as she went to a private liberal arts college for year and then transferred to a public university where she found some parts of the transfer process more easier than others! She talks about her accommodations, advocating for FM systems and a notetaker, to find out that there is a transcribe website available to use! She dives a little bit into academics and living in one of the smallest dorms in campus and now lives in a dorm twice the size as her previous living situation. In the end, she will conclude with what she would recommend others do differently than she did!
