Zakat Era Modern
Zakat adalah ibadah mahdhah. Ibadah mahdhah adalah ibadah murni yang telah disebutkan dalam Al-qur’an sebagaimana shalat,puasa,haji,syahadat. Zakat baru terdefinisikan ketika Nabi Muhammad SAW hijrah pertama kali.Ketika Nabi Muhammad SAW tiba di Madinah zakat menjadi instrument penting dalam membangun peradaban yaitu untuk mengisi baitul mal salah satunya adalah dengan zakat,ada sumber yang lain misalnya ghanimah,faih masuk di Baitul mall yang sekarang kita menyebutnya RAPBN,APBN artinya pada saat itu belanja-belanja untuk rakyat adalah dibiayai dengan dana zakat. Zakat mengalami perkembangan dibandingkan dengan zaman dahulu, zaman para imam mazhab. Dahulu adalah Negara islam yang penduduk abbasiyah muslim: zakat, Non-uslim: Jizyah,Kharaj. Sedangkan kalo sekarang kita masuk zaman Nasional, Jadi kalo sekarang ada penarikan kepada Non-muslim itu bukan zakat melainkan Restribusi dan itu merupakan kewajiban warga negara bukan kewajiban agama. Para Ulama melihat zakat sebagai ibadah maliyah (bondho),karena zakat itu haknya mustahik jadi bukan soal siapa yang punya tapi barang harus dikeluarkan zakatnya karena sudah satu nishab da memenuhi syarat. Zakat ini wujudnya mengeluarkan harta yang khusus dengan cara yang khusus untuk 8 asnaf atau sebagian dari delapan asnaf.
