बचपन की, हर याद में, शायद वो मेरा साझी है,
मुझे बनाकर, ओझल होता, वो मेरा माज़ी है |
टहनियों में जिसकी झूल कर खेला करता था
दोपहर की धूप में थक कर जहाँ सोया करता था ||
दिल को चोट लगती थी तो उसीसे बात करता था,
ख़ामोशी से सब सुनता था, जब कभी मैं रोया करता था |
दूर आ गया हूँ बहुत, पर सब याद रहता है,
वैसे हर घर में एक खूबसूरत पुराना पेड़ रहता है ||
वक़्त की, सर्द और गर्म हवाओं, ज़िम्मेदारियों में अब ग़ुम सा रहता है
माँगता कभी कुछ नहीं बस जिसे जो चाहिए, वो दिआ करता है |
आँगन का वो पेड़ पुराना, घर जाऊँ तो जैसे झूमने लगता है,
कहता कुछ नहीं, खुश तो है, अंदर ही अंदर, मगर चुप रहता है ||
आँगन का वो पेड़ पुराना अब चुप रहता है
