Por siempre joven
<ul> <li>Porque la gente no regresa, se va y luego llega otra gente con sus mismos rostros y ademanes.</li> <li>Será porque yo tampoco regreso: siempre soy otro cuando vuelvo del sueño.</li> <li>Tal vez es por eso que escribo, para aferrarme a la loca idea de negarme a cambiar.</li> <li>O quizá llenar de letras mis horas de vigilia es mi absurda manera de cubrir estas paredes inexistentes con las pinturas rupestres que hablarán un día de lo que fui.</li> </ul> <p><br /></p> <p>Decían los médicos especialistas que su deterioro era inevitable, no se podía detener ni aletargar: sus recuerdos rápidamente caerían como las hojas en otoño y tras ellos su salud y lucidez. Tras la contundente sentencia y luego de un periodo de duelo y mucho llanto, llegó la helada aceptación a sus más cercanos familiares. Resignados decidieron continuar sus vidas justificando la desición en la idea de que en aquel retiro recibiría la mejor atención para su enfermedad. Los vio salir por la puerta un jueves para no volverlos a mirar. De cualquier manera, irónicamente, al poco tiempo se olvidó de ellos y desde entonces no paró de olvidar... Y por olvidar, una mañana no recordó abrir sus ojos, se adentró en la bruma de su memoria hasta cruzar a través de aquella puerta que era la frontera de su cordura. Del otro lado la esperaban los juguetes que el tiempo le había robado, los sinsentidos que de niña le había reprimido la razón, los rostros de un pasado que a veces creía ver en doctores y enfermeras, y al final, la insensible estancia donde nada volvería a doler, donde al fin podría ser joven por siempre jamás.</p>
