Cell Fratricide and Allogeneic CAR T-cells | Dr. Maksim Mamonkin

Sidharth speaks with Dr. Maksim Mamonkin (Ph.D), an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine studying the immunobiology of CAR T-cells for the treatment of T cell lymphomas and leukemias. Dr. Mamonkin's team has developed fratricide resistant CAR T-cells for T cell malignancies, and he's currently translating his findings to the clinic via several ongoing Phase I clinical trials. Our conversation begins by discussing autologous CAR T-cell methods and problems with cell fratricide. Then, we shift to discussing allogeneic CAR T-cells and the bioengineering challenges that lie in the future for CAR T-cell therapy.

Learn more by vising my website: https://www.brooklynmusings.com/.

Music Credit: "Upbeat Corporate by JP Bianchini" is under a Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0 license.
