わたしたちが知覚・認識できない個人の意識の領域のことを、潜在意識と言います。そしてここにある「観念」「概念」が外側の世界をつくります。 だからよく、好ましくない観念は書き換えましょうと言われたります。 わたし自身は、潜在意識を思い通りに変えたからといって、それで幸せになれるとは考えていません。 目の前の現実が思い通りになっても、虚しくなったり、不安が消えないこと、ありますよね。（それにはきちんと理由があります） けれど、もしもあなたが目の前の現実に不平・不満を言い続けていたり、変わりたいのに変われない時間が長く続いているなら、潜在意識を変えることは、とても役に立つと考えています。
