<p>Es ist Februar 2021 – fast ein Jahr Pandemie. Und seit fast zwei Monaten läuft die EU-weite Impfkampagne gegen Corona – auch, wenn da immer noch einige Startschwierigkeiten sind. Um die EU und die Bewältigung der Corona-Krise geht es in dieser Folge von „Europa Lounge“. Und wir sprechen darüber mit Europa-Parlamentarier Peter Liese. Er kommt ursprünglich aus Westfalen, hat Medizin studiert und war anschließend praktizierender Arzt. Seit 1994 sitzt Peter Liese für die CDU im europäischen Parlament. Da gilt er als einer der profiliertesten Gesundheitspolitiker*innen der Europäischen Volkspartei EVP. Er sitzt unter anderem in den Ausschüssen für Umweltfragen, öffentliche Gesundheit und Lebensmittelsicherheit. Interviewt wird der Europapolitiker von Markus Grabitz, Journalist bei der Stuttgarter Zeitung. Grabitz ist seit 2016 Korrespondent in Brüssel. Das Interview fand über Telefon statt. Was ist in der EU vermeintlich schiefgelaufen in der Pandemie? Ist wirklich, mal wieder, „Brüssel“ Schuld am knappen Impfstoff? Was war da los mit AstraZeneca? Und: Wie kann es in Zukunft besser werden? Die Antworten hier in der Europa Lounge.</p>
