Clickbait and Sensationalism in the Media

Over every platform of media there are forms of clickbait and sensationalism that follow. These misleading cover stories and headlines cause conflict between the truth and greed for views and attention. In this episode, we dig deeper into the factors of clickbait and sensationalism, mostly revolving around the question, "Can journalists create more appealing articles without resorting to clickbait or sensationalism?" Interviewed by Eva Bosa, Vickie wang, and Yajun Wu, we will talk to two students and one faculty member of Collingwood school who will share their insight to clickbait in the media. Sophia Garoffalo is the editor for the school newspaper, Ms. VK is one of the school librarians, and finally, Dominic Kowalski, a grade 10 student who encounters forms of clickbait everyday.
