In FAR TOO CLOSE gaan vier (ex-)UvA-studenten op zoek naar het koloniale verleden van zes gebouwen in het Amsterdamse Universiteitskwartier. Welke verhalen huizen er in de gebouwen waar we college volgen en studeren? En wat moeten we vandaag de dag met een verleden dat misschien ver weg voelt, maar eigenlijk nog heel dichtbij is? Wij - Maartje van Bennekom, Maaike de Kleijn, Laure Lambert en Iris van der Werff - nemen je mee op onze zoektocht naar de koloniale geschiedenis van de plekken waar we dagelijks studeerden. We gaan op onderzoek uit in de gebouwen, duiken de archieven in en gaan in gesprek met experts over hoe deze koloniale geschiedenis nog steeds aanwezig is. FAR TOO CLOSE werd gemaakt in opdracht van VOX-POP, de 'creative space' van de Faculteit Geesteswetenschappen van de UvA en in samenwerking met Microphone Media.
