Podcast Overview

Free Spirits with Rosie Osborne is a podcast that dives deep into the transformative themes of freedom, creativity, resilience, and mental health. Each episode invites you into inspiring conversations where host Rosie Osborne and her diverse range of guests share their honest dialogue and powerful personal journeys, insights, and tools for embracing a more authentic life.

Following the release of the book Free Spirits in 2019, the project has been a long term work in progress for Rosie Osborne. Rosie began writing interviews at the age of just fifteen. ‘The more interviews that I did as a teenager, the more I felt intrigued to seek out other stories to document and preserve. When I was 17, I made a promise to myself that I’d release a book, documenting all of the inspiring stories that I had collected, before I turned 30’, Rosie explains. And fittingly, Free Spirits was released on the eve of her 30th birthday.

The next 15 years were filled with joyous encounters all over the world, with numerous artists, filmmakers, writers and thinkers in their homes and studios. ‘The funny, tragic, inspiring words and stories that I heard over those formative years were a compass for where I went next, and the decisions that I made, and the energy of each person that I interviewed has stayed with me ever since’, Rosie says.

Rosie’s subtle questioning draws out those emotive, relatable ideas from her interviewees - their past, their influences, what has governed and shaped their lives. The podcast continues the quest to explore the human spirit - what drives, inspires and excites us, and what lurks half hidden in the dark corners of our minds. That unquantifiable, undefinable essence that drives us to create, and how we can remain true to our most authentic selves.
