Welcome to the Future of History Podcast! A podcast about the past, in the present, projecting into the future. My name is Ross and I will be your host. I'm a history buff, a philosopher, and a futurist who’s convinced that lessons from the past can teach us philosophies that will lead us to a better future. Will future generations consider the present generation, primitive, just as we do our ancestors? Will they wonder how we justify our Machiavellian ways, posing, all the while committing atrocities our descendants will see as delusions of grandeur ‘justifying the ends with the means’? This podcast explores how our descendants will read our chapter in their history books. We’ll ponder questions such as: What will they say about us? What impact will we have made on them? Will they say that we were complicit or that we made a difference? With guests there will be deep philosophical conversations, starting with the past, into the present, and pondering the future. Hopefully, these discussions will inspire the change we want to see, reflected in our chapter of history, as we aspire to pass the baton of historical literacy into the future. There will be weekly episodes, with guests from all around the world talking about everything from A-Z, but especially Canadian history, which is ‘my home and native land.’
