Angela Merkel is voor velen het toonbeeld van vrouwelijk leiderschap. Alleen al omdat ze de eerste vrouw was die Duitsland bestuurde, en dat ook nog vier regeerperiodes volhield. Merkels vluchtelingenpolitiek bleek een splijtzwam voor Duitsland. Vooral in het oosten stuitte haar ‘Wir schaffen das’ op grote weerstand. En de economie blijft er nog altijd achter bij die in het westen. De teleurstelling over Merkel is er groot. Ook onder jongere Duitsers. Bij de laatste verkiezingen werd de Alternative für Deutschland de grootste oppositiepartij in de Bondsdag. Hoe verdeeld laat Merkel Duitsland achter?
