This is a podcast all about love, loss and grief. We laugh, we cry, we connect. I'm your host Leigh Malaihollo. In January of 2019 my dad died very suddenly. In a quest to come to terms with my own feelings of loss, I use each episode to chat to someone about their own personal experiences of grief. I find love, sadness, joy and connection within every conversation. Episode 2: Chrissy & Gary

In this episode, we chat about a grief unconnected to death. I talk to my guests Chrissy & Gary about the feelings of loss and grief that can often arise during and after gender transition. They talk to me openly and honestly about their own experiences with transition and loss, as well as their important work with the Hastings & Rother Rainbow Alliance, and with the Trans Support Group in particular.

If you need to reach out to this brilliant local support group for help or advice, especially during these tricky times of lockdown and social isolation, please do get in contact using the links listed below:

Website: http://www.hrra.org.uk/trans/trans-group/

Contact email for Trans Support Group (at Hastings & Rother Rainbow Alliance): hrrat@hrra.org.uk

Twitter: @HRRA_T

Please excuse some poor audio recording on my part during this episode. I spoke to my guests via Zoom, and I'm still learning how to record on there without sounding like I'm calling on a landline from 1995!!

Enjoy!

Episode 1: Lily Gutierrez

In this first episode, I chat to my good friend Lily about her journey through grief. We chat about how it felt to lose her Mum to cancer at a very young age and the effects that had on her as a young teenager. We also talk about the cavernous grief that hit her following the sudden death of her best buddy and soul sister Peaches. Lily is one of my favourite people and my go to storyteller. She was a perfect first guest. She even put up with all of my technical mishaps like the trooper she is. Her age belies her wisdom and there are some wonderful gems of advice in this chat.

Lily also provided the original artwork for this podcast, because she is my loudest cheerleader and supporter. So please sit back and enjoy this one. I know I did.
