Our guest is Helena Comella Romeu who examined the framing of climate change communication and its influence on ideological divisions. CO2-rechten: hoe zat het ook alweer? en waarom is het nu relevant? - Lisanne Boersma | #24
Je hebt vast wel eens gehoord van het Emission Trading System, oftewel: ETS. Een verplichting voor bedrijven in de elektriciteitssector, luchtvaart, scheepvaart en industrie in Europa om emissierechten te kopen voor de broeikasgassen die ze uitstoten. Het bestaat al sinds 2005 met de bedoeling om het totale aantal beschikbare rechten jaarlijks te verlagen, waarmee ook de CO2 emissies dalen. In theorie een slim systeem, maar in de praktijk werkt het niet optimaal. Daarom is WISE de campagne “carbonkiller” begonnen. Lisanne - directeur bij WISE - praat ons bij over de stand van zaken en welke acties ze opzetten voor een betere werking van het systeem. Zoals de recente campagne om de emissierechten die vrijkomen bij het sluiten van de kolencentrales in Nederland van de markt te halen. Luister mee en hoor hoe jij kan bijdragen aan deze campagne!
