Episode 5 – The End of an Era

<p>Welcome to the fifth episode of our podcast, Guildcast, led by your Full-Time Officers at Exeter Students’ Guild. Each month our podcast covers different topics that impact student experience at Exeter, and provides a general update on what the Students’ Guild are working on so you can keep up to date!</p> <p>You can listed to this episode <u>here</u>!</p> <p>This episode includes:</p> <p>· The Officers discussed the end of their time in Office, and their highlights of the last year before they leave the Guild in good hands.</p> <p>· Ruby discussed her highlights as Guild Officer, which included the successful <strong>Wellbeing Week, </strong>the new wellbeing space on campus, <strong>Exehale,</strong> and student engagement with <strong>Wellbeing Townhalls.</strong></p> <p>· Sunday’s highlight was the way that students have actively got involved in the Guild through campaigns, as she has loved <strong>empowering students</strong> to be change-makers themselves.</p> <p>· Penny discussed her highlights as VP Education, which included establishing the role of <strong>equality rep,</strong> the achievements of her <strong>reps at UG level</strong>, and the collective effort of her <strong>PG reps</strong> to drive policy-changes as a result of a report on the experience of disabled students in getting wellbeing support.</p> <p>· Liv’s highlights include working on the recent <strong>Festival of Discovery</strong> alongside the university, the launch of <strong>Give It A Go</strong>, and the <strong>Get Connected</strong> campaign set up in the first lockdown.</p> <p>· There were also some questions for the officers, including their favourite memory of being in office, their favourite part about representing students, and the weirdest thing that Sunday has done in this job!</p> <p>We are sad to see Sunday, Liv, Ruby and Penny go, but we are confident that the Guild will be left in good hands with the new officer team!</p> <p>Remember to follow the new officers on social media to stay up to date with what they are working on as they start their new roles!</p> <p>@ExePresident</p> <p>@ExeVPLiberation</p> <p>@ExeVPEducation</p> <p>@ExeVPOpps</p>

Episode Four: Wellbeing and Give It A Go

<p>Welcome to the next monthly instalment of Guildcast, a podcast in which your Full-Time Officers discuss current events and challenges within the student community. As the Officers’ time at the University is coming to an end, they reflect upon some of their recent achievements and how it feels saying goodbye to their roles.</p> <p>This episode includes:</p> <p>-Ruby’s fantastic student-led <strong>Exehale</strong>&nbsp;campaign: a new, quiet non-study space on campus with a strong focus on wellbeing to give students a space to rest and recharge.</p> <p>-The <strong>Wellbeing Town Halls</strong>&nbsp;which have importantly been bringing staff and students together to hear from students about issues affecting their welfare.</p> <p>-The <strong>Give It A</strong> <strong>Go</strong>&nbsp;campaign has been launched with the Festival of Discovery! Episode Three—Tuition Fees and Free Speech

<p>Welcome back to the third episode in our brand-new podcast, Guildcast! Each month we’ll be releasing a podcast on current topics and issues impacting students at Exeter.</p> <p>In today’s episode, your Full-Time Officers discussed:</p> <p>-Ruby’s wellbeing campaign Exehale: a new space on campus to support students rest and recharge in-between studying. Find out more here [https://www.exeterguild.org/news/article/6001/Exehale-is-here/]</p> <p>-Liv discussed how exciting it is to see societies begin to have in person activities considering the latest limiting of coronavirus restrictions.</p> <p>-Tuition fees are a hot topic; Penny noted how the Guild Council have recently voted in favour for officers to campaign for refunds for students.
