Written by a duo of aunt and niece, this book is about Juliet, an author from London, who receives a letter from a resident of Guernsey and a member of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (a literaty society created in the spur-of-the-moment as an alibi to protect its members from the punishment of breaking curfew). Curious to learn more about the Occupation and the literary society, she travels to Guernsey, and finds a family among the members of the society.
