Uitzicht op het onbekende
Audiodocumentaire over de eerste stappen van Antoni van Leeuwenhoek (1632 - 1723) in de microwereld. Wat betekent het om iets te zien wat je blote oog niet kan zien? In zijn zolderkamer in het centrum van Delft, bekeek Antoni alles door zijn zelfgemaakte microscopen: zijn eigen lichaamsvloeistoffen, de poten van een bij, kleine stukjes kaneel. Zo ontdekte hij wat we vandaag rode bloedcellen, zaadcellen en bacteriën noemen. Een paar straten verder, treedt microfotograaf Wim van Egmond vandaag de dag in zijn voetsporen met een digitale camera en een binoculaire microscoop. Een verhaal over hoe mensen het onzichtbare proberen te grijpen, van de eerste keer tot de dag van vandaag. Over de verschuivende kaders waarin wij de wereld bekijken. En over de tijdloze aantrekkingskracht van het onbekende. Met wetenschapshistorica Geertje Dekkers, microfotograaf Wim van Egmond, Frédérique Brinkerink, manager kerk en kunst van de Oude Kerk van Delft en graffiti kunstenaar Tim Rodermans bij de geboorteplek van Antoni van Leeuwenhoek. Audio documentary about the story behind the statue of Geertrui van Oosten, located in the city center of Delft (in Dutch). Audiodocumentaire over het mysterieuze verhaal achter het standbeeld van Geertrui van Oosten (1320-1358), in het centrum van Delft. Wie was Geertrui van Oosten? Deze vraag blijkt niet zo makkelijk te beantwoorden. Want hoe kunnen we weten wat er zich 700 jaar geleden heeft afgespeeld, in een tijd waarin er maar weinig werd opgeschreven en het nieuws vooral werd verteld? De audiodocumentaire is een onderzoek naar het verhaal van Geertrui van Oosten en het leven van de vrouwen in de Middeleeuwen. Met historica Renée Beukers, mediëvist Ludo Jongen, en historicus en archivaris Gerrit Verhoeven bij het Stadsarchief Delft. Het beeld van Geertrui is mede mogelijk gemaakt door subsidie voor creatieve makers Delft.
