19 Aralık 1977 târihinde Kırşehir’in Kaman ilçesinde doğdu. Babasının ve annesinin memuriyetleri gereği tâyin oldukları Afyon’un Sandıklı İlçesi, Miralay Reşatbey İlkokulunda okudu. Ortaokulu ise Sandıklı Lisesi orta kısmında, Liseyi Bursa’da Işıklar Askerî Lisesi’nde okudu. Yüksek öğrenimini Kara Harp Okulunda yaptıktan sonra muvazzaf subay olarak yurdumuzun doğusunda, batısında, Kıbrıs’ta görev yaptı. Hâlen Güneydoğu Anadolu’da görevlidir. Mesleği ile ilgili kitapların yanı sıra özellikle târihî ve mitolojik kitaplar da okuyan ve bu konularda araştırmalar yapan Çağatay Demirel, okuduklarından aldığı ilhamla Türk romancılığına farklı boyutlar kazandırıyor.
