Hayvanlar depremi önceden hisseder mi?
<p> Hayvanlar (köpekler, kemirgenler vs.) yavrularını doğururlar ve yenidoğanın karın duvarında gerginlik oluşur. Bu gerginlik ultrasonik seslerin oluşmasına yol açar (insan kulağının duyması mümkün değildir) ve anneye beni besle sinyali verir. Anne bunu duyar ve yavrusunu besler. Yani hayvanlar bu sesleri fizyolojileri gereği duyarlar. Hayvanlar bu kadar düşük frekanslı sesleri algılayabiliyorsa deprem sırasında oluşan öncül sesleride hissederler mi?<br>Deprem (belirli büyüklükte) oluşmaya başladığı sırada önce ultrasonik, ardından yükselen ses dalgaları veya titreşimler oluşturur. Yapılan araştırmalar, genel olarak bu dalgaların ilk ortaya çıktığı süreçte (ilk 3-5 saniye) hayvanların bu dalga veya titreşimlere karşı tepkilerini anlamaya çalışmaktadır. Ancak bu konuda girişimsel deney çok azdır. Yani birçok çalışma gözlemsel bulgular elde edilerek hazırlanmıştır. Bazı çalışmalar ise depremi oluşturan yer plakalarının ortaya çıkardığı elektriksel alan değişikliğinin hayvanlar tarafından nasıl algılanabileceği üzerine olmuştur. Ancak bu çalışmaların birçoğunda elde edilen sonuçlar anlamaya çalıştığımız durumu net aydınlatmaya yetmiyor. Girişimsel yapılan çalışmalar ise daha çok veriye ve çalışmaya ihtiyacımızın olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. </p>
