PREFACE: while I talk about mistreatment of black Americans in the past tense, I am painfully aware of the discrimination that is still very much prevalent today. I was explaining it in past tense to strengthen the relationship between the history of the relationship between black Americans and the medical community to that relationship today. This episode goes into depth on the healthcare side of things, including HIV testing, medical mistreatment, and confidentiality.
