Talent Over Title Part 1

In episode 1 of Holiday Road we will be starting a series called Talent Over Title. This episode interviews Colin Marshall a working singer songwriter from Onalaska, Wisconsin to talk about the hurdles and tricks of making a full time living through music. Musician's enter the music scene for a couple reasons; some because they feel its a direction they are meant to go. They may be raised in families of musicians or found they have a musical gift that others seem to enjoy, or many just hoe for their one big break, so they practice their craft and begin the task of trying to get paid to play music for the public. Others seem to get a lucky break. Maybe they get on a show like American Idol, or sing for Oprah, or win a big musical contest. This attention thrusts them into the spotlight and they try like crazy to learn the music business virtually overnight. This series is geared towards musicians that want to learn from those who are currently working fulltime in music as professional musicians. Each show features an interview from either an artist, a music venue, or an arts industry professional to find out how to make a better career out of music. It will also showcase one original song from the host Scott Wilcox, and one song from either a musical guest or a featured independent artist.
