Today we are almost always everywhere — but rarely truly here. The early Church Fathers described this phenomenon with surprising clarity and even understood it as a "strategy of darkness". In this second sermon of the series "Renewal of the Nous", we look at what scatters us inwardly, what the Bible and the Fathers say about it, and Martin shares a small practice you can try out for yourself this week. --- Wir sind heute fast immer überall — aber selten wirklich hier. Table of restoration III // Der Tisch der Wiederherstellung III (Martin Spreer)
With this sermon we bring the series "The Table of Restoration" to its close. We walk through the last five tables of the Bible — from Jesus' meal with tax collectors and sinners all the way to the wedding feast of the Lamb — and discover a movement that carries the whole gospel: God comes down to us in order to heal us. At the end of the sermon we celebrate the Lord's Supper together — a foretaste of that final, great table toward which the whole journey is moving. --- Mit dieser Predigt schließen wir die Serie "Der Tisch der Wiederherstellung" ab. Wir gehen durch die letzten fünf Tische der Bibel — vom Mahl Jesu mit Zöllnern und Sündern bis zum Hochzeitsmahl des Lammes — und entdecken eine Bewegung, die das ganze Evangelium trägt: Gott steigt zu uns herab, um uns zu heilen. Am Ende der Predigt feiern wir gemeinsam das Mahl des Herrn — eine Vorwegnahme jenes letzten, großen Tisches, auf den die ganze Reise hingeht.
