<p>עסקת נשק בינלאומית שהסתבכה, קרבות אגו שיצאו משליטה, ופעולות חשאיות שיצאו מהאפלה: פרשת איראנגייט התפוצצצה בשנת 1986 כשעיתון לבנוני חשף שארצות הברית העבירה נשק למשטר האייתוללות של איראן, למרות אמברגו הנשק הבינלאומי שהוטל עליה. </p> <p>מהר מאוד הוכנסה לסיפור הזה גם ידידתה הטובה של אמריקה במזרח התיכון, ובכירים ישראלים נאלצו להסביר מדוע סייעו להוצאתה לפועל של העסקה האסורה. וההסברים האלה עברו בין וושינגטון, ירושלים, טהראן, שווייץ וניקרגואה, וכללו עסקה סיבובית של נשק, שבויים, וסיוע למיליציות מורדים במרכז אמריקה. </p> <p>גלי ההדף של פרשת איראנגייט גם הציתה יריבות מקומית בין שניים מהמעורבים הישראלים, יעקב נמרודי ועמירם ניר - יריבות שתעצב כמה מהפרשות הדרמטיות של העשורים הבאים בישראל.</p>

פרק 7 | פרשת ראש השב״כ
<p>משבר זהות של מדינה שלמה, קרע בעם ומעורבות יוצאת דופן של הנשיא הרצוג: פרק 7 של ההסכת "הפרשה" חוזר אל פרשת ראש השב"כ. <br>זה התחיל ב-12 באפריל 1984, כשארבעה מחבלים חטפו את אוטובוס קו 300 של אגד, בדרך לאשקלון. שניים מהמחבלים תועדו יורדים בחיים מהאוטובוס, אבל בבוקר שאחרי דווח שכל הארבעה נהרגו. השאלות - מי הרג שניים מהמחבלים ומי נתן את ההוראה לכך, הם תחילתו של כדור שלג שבמשך יותר משנתיים הסעיר את המדינה, איים על הדרגים הבכירים ביותר במערכת הביטחון ובממשלה, ועורר לחיים כמה משאלות היסוד של ישראל כמדינה דמוקרטית. רק התערבות חריגה של נשיא המדינה, חיים הרצוג, הצליחה להשקיט את אחת הפרשות החשובות בתולדות המדינה.</p>

הפרשה - פרק 6 | פרשת נערות הליווי
<p>פרשיית מין, כוכבי כדורגל, והפסדים צורמים: 1999 היתה שנה קשה לנבחרת ישראל בכדורגל. התבוסה המשפילה 5:0 לדנמרק בפלייאוף העלייה ליורו היתה רק יריית הפתיחה. בבוקר משחק הגומלין פורסם בעיתון מעריב שחלק משחקני הנבחרת בילו עם נערות ליווי בלילה שלפני המשחק. הידיעה הזו הרעישה את המדינה - לא על הסוגייה המוסרית אלא בגלל התוצאות על המגרש ובשל והבחירה של העיתון שלא לפרסם את שמות השחקנים המעורבים.</p>
