Menurut para ulama, boleh memberikan zakat kepada narapidana jika mereka termasuk orang-orang fakir, miskin, atau orang-orang yang sedang mengalami kesulitan dalam masalah keuangan. Selama mereka termasuk golongan yang berhak menerima zakat, baik karena fakir, miskin, gharimin atau lainnya, maka boleh menyalurkan zakat kepada mereka.
