Bruce Edelstein è Professore di Storia dell'Arte presso la New York University a Villa la Pietra, Firenze.<br />Nell'intervento, Bruce Edelstein descrive il Giardino di Boboli da un punto di vista storico; inizialmente fattoria, passò poi ai Medici nel 1549, i quali iniziarono i progetti di ampliamento e costruzione del giardino, modificati successivamente nel tempo, fino ad arrivare a quello che oggi è uno degli esempi più importanti di giardino all'italiana rinascimentale.
