Die Produktion bei KTM in Mattighofen wurde erneut gestoppt, die Arbeiter sind zu Hause, nur die Angestellten arbeiten weiter in Kurzarbeit. Zwei zentrale Finanzierungsmaßnahmen – eine Kapitalerhöhung und die Umwandlung von Darlehen in Eigenkapital – wurden kurzfristig abgesagt, da kein Investor präsentiert werden konnte. Stattdessen soll nun ein Kreditmodell mit Aktienverpfändung greifen. KTM braucht bis 23. Mai 600 Millionen Euro, um die Gläubigerquote zu erfüllen. Potenzielle Investoren zögern, einige spekulieren offenbar auf eine mögliche Insolvenz und günstige Übernahmemöglichkeiten. Hoffnung machen der indische Hauptaktionär Bajaj, der bereits 150 Millionen investiert hat, sowie Gespräche mit BRP aus Kanada und weiteren Interessenten. Die Produktionspause wird genutzt, um Lagerbestände abzubauen – KTM soll trotz Krise eine starke Marke bleiben.

Dabei stehen Deutsche Autohersteller wie VW, BMW und Mercedes im Visier der Chinesen.Der Scheinwerferhersteller Hella-Werk muss die Produktion im Wrk im burgenländischen Großpetersdorf drastisch zurückfahren und verlagert Teile nach Osteuropa Bosch schließt zwei Power Tools Werke in Deutschland: Unter anderem die Produktion der Werkzeugsparte in Stuttgart wird mit 2026 eingestellt. Und Bialetti wird Chinesische: Stephen Cheng aus Hong Kong übernimmt große Teile der Espressomaschinen-Kultmarke.
