Misalnya, dalam riwayat Qailah binti Makhramah dikatakan: رأت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في المسجد، وهو قاعد القرفصاء. قالت: فلما رأيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم المتخشع في الجلسة فأرعدت من الفرق “Qailah binti Makhramah melihat Rasulullah sedang duduk di masjid. Posisi duduknya dengan mengangkat lutut, menempelkannya ke perut, dengan kedua tangan memeluk tulang betis (posisi duduk seperti ini dalam bahasa Arab disebut qurfusa’). Rasulullah, seperti disaksikan Qailah, duduk dengan penuh ketenangan dan kekhusyukan, hingga Qailah menggigil seperti orang ketakutan.”
