Veli Vural Uslu, Ph.D., lisans eğitimini Bilkent Üniversitesi Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik Bölümü'nde tamamlamıştır. Gelişim ve Kanser Biyolojisi Departmanı'nda The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) ve Heidelberg University'den çift doktora aldıktan sonra Heidelberg University Bitki Metabolizması Departmanı'nda doktora sonrası araştırmalar yapmıştır.
