But due to the courage shown by adolescent girls in the community, the villagers are more aware of the harmful effects of consuming such water.

Ground water contamination in Bihar is nothing new. It is very common to find presence of harmful chemicals like arsenic, fluoride, zinc in excessive levels across parts of Bihar. With intervention by WaterAid India, adolescent girls and women volunteers have been identified & trained to test water quality sources and take remedial measures to ensure that everyone has access to clean & safe drinking water.
