"The Meg" & "All The Bright Places"
<p>1. The Meg summary</p> <p>Five years ago, expert sea diver and Naval Captain Jonas Taylor encountered an unknown danger in the unexplored recesses of the Mariana Trench that forced him to abort his mission and abandon half his crew. This incident earned him a dismissal from service, what ultimately cost him his career and his marriage. But when a submersible lies sunk and disabled at the bottom of the ocean, carrying his ex-wife among the team onboard, he is the one who gets the call. It’s because the deep sea submersible has been attacked by a massive creature, that might be the one Taylor had encountered before which is a pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon that previously thought to be extinct. Now, teamed with Suyin, he must confront his fears and risk his own life to save everyone trapped below. Then, he succeeds in getting everyone escape back to the surface without Toshi who sacrifices himself because the shark comes back for another attack. The situation isn't over yet, as the sub's destruction has caused a temporary pocket of heat to vent upwards and allow the shark to move to normal ocean waters. This situation endangers people who are swimming on the beach so Taylor, Suyin, and the others are forced to fight to kill the Meg.</p> <p>2. All The Bright Places summary</p> <p>All The Bright Places novel storyline is about a girl who learns to live from a boy who intends to die. It started when Finch (who is fascinated by death and constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself but each time something good stops him) and Violet (whose sister recently died) meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school. And when they pair up on a school project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, the two begin a romantic relationship and fall in love. As the time goes by, Violet begins to heal while Finch’s mental health begins to deteriorate because she doesn’t know and realize that he suffers from an undiagnosed bipolar disorder. After a fight between them, Finch disappear and a month later Violet figures out that he has drowned himself at one of their wandering sites for the school project.</p>

Barbados becomes the world’s newest republic & Dozens test positive on South Africa-Netherlands flights
<p>1st news:</p> <p>Barbados has officially removed Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state and become the world's newest republic. In an overnight ceremony in the capital, Bridgetown, Dame Sandra Mason was sworn in as president. The Prince of Wales and Barbadian singer, Rihanna, attended the event, which coincided with the country's 55th anniversary of independence. In a speech, Prince Charles acknowledged the "appalling atrocity of slavery" the Caribbean island suffered. The new era for Barbados ends Britain's centuries of influence. To signify the official change of power, a final salute was made to the British monarchy and the Royal Standard flag was lowered and replaced. Speaking as the guest of honour at the event, Prince Charles reiterated the continuing ties between the two nations despite the constitutional status change.</p> <p>2nd news:</p> <p>Health officials in several European countries are checking to see if the newly identified variant of coronavirus has already arrived within their borders. The WHO says early evidence suggests the variant named Omicron poses an increased reinfection risk. Sample from 61 people who arrived in Netherlands on flights from South Africa have tested positive for Covid-19 and are being examined to see if they contain the new strain. They have been placed in isolation at a hotel near Schiphol Airport. Many countries around the world, including the US and Australia, have restricted travel to and from the Southern African region.</p>

"The Princess Diaries" & "The Door to Time"
<p><strong>Movie's summary:</strong></p> <p>Mia Thermopolis is a sweet and very bright 15 year old girl, yet socially awkward, shy, a little geeky, and pretty much invisible to everyone with the exception of her single mother, Lilly (her best friend), and Lilly’s brother, Michael. Making it through high school without throwing up is a challenge in itself for Mia, so it doesn’t come as welcome news when her estranged grandmother, Queen Clarisse Renaldi, shows up out of the blue and calmly informs her that she is in fact the heir to the throne of an European kingdom called Genovia. Suddenly Mia’s life is thrown into complete overload. She’s being taught about manners, dancing, and personal presentation to become a perfect Princess. She receives a makeover and a bodyguard and driver called Joe. Things get out of hand when the media gets a hold of the story and suddenly Mia is thrust into the spotlight in the newspaper and in school. On top of all that, Mia has a choice to make. She must decide by Genovian Independence Day Ball whether she relinquish her claim on the throne or to become the Princess and heir to the throne her father and grandmother want her to be. Terrified by the prospect, Mia plans to run away until she discovers a touching letter from her late father. She changes her mind and makes her way to the ball to accepts her role as Princess of Genovia.</p> <p><strong>Book's summary:</strong></p> <p>The Door to Time is the first book of Ulysses Moore series originally by Pierdomenico Baccalario from Italy and has been translated to some other languages e.g. English and Bahasa. The book is telling about eleven year old twins, Jason and Julia, who have just moved from London to an old mansion on the English coast. Their new home is filled with twisting tunnels and strange artifacts from around the world, and the twins can't wait to discover all its secrets. Before long, Jason, Julia, and their friend, Rick, stumble upon a mysterious-looking door hidden behind an old wardrobe. But none of the keys in the house will open it. Jason, Julia, and Rick are determined to find out, no matter what it takes.</p>
