<p>Los hermanos Grimm, Jacob nacido en 1785 y Wilhelm en 1786, fueron filólogos y folcloristas. Asistiendo a la Universidad de Marburgo conocieron a Clemens Bretano, poeta y folclorista quien los indujo en la poesía popular. Más tarde conocieron a Friedrich Karl von, un historiador del cual aprendieron un método para realizar investigaciones de fuentes escritas. Al graduarse sintieron una atracción especial con la literatura y decidieron aplicar las técnicas y métodos que habían aprendido anteriormente y fue entre 1812-1822 que escribieron Cuentos infantiles y del hogar donde se relatan diferentes tradiciones populares en Alemania, se hicieron tres volúmenes de este ya que cobraron bastante fama desde el primer lanzamiento. Estos pertenecieron a la época de cuentos y fábulas.</p>
