Mauro Natale, Professore emerito di Storia dell'Arte Moderna presso l'Università di Ginevra, approfondisce la storia dell'Isola Bella, isola facente parte del gruppo delle Isole Borromee, presso il Lago Maggiore.<br />Fino al 1630 scoglio roccioso e abitazione di pescatori, l'Isola Bella divenne poi feudo dei Borromeo, i quali diedero vita al progetto.<br />Attraverso la descrizione di alcune delle sale più suggestive del palazzo dell'isola, Mauro Natale dimostra come l'Isola Bella sia esempio di coesione tra arte, architettura e piante, tra natura ed artificio.

Alessandro Morandotti è Professore di Storia dell'Arte Moderna presso l'Università degli Studi di Torino.<br />Nell'intervento, Alessandro Morandotti ci accompagna nel Ninfeo di Lainate, nella Villa ideata dal Conte Pirro I Visconti Borromeo alla fine del 1500, poi proprietà del comune dagli anni 70'.<br />Alessandra Morandotti ne descrive le caratteristiche principali, dai giochi d'acqua con sistema meccanico di caduta, oggi parzialmente recuperati, alle grotte naturali ricostruite artificialmente.
