Hoffnungsträger im Kampf gegen Covid: Was wir über den mRNA Impfstoff wissen sollten
<p>Im Dezember 2019 berichten Ärzt*innen im chinesischen Wuhan zum ersten Mal von einer Häufung mysteriöser Lungenentzündungen. Schnell wird als Ursache das neuartige <strong>Coronavirus </strong>"Covid-19" ausgemacht. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit verbreitet sich das Virus auf der ganzen Welt und bestimmt den Alltag von Millionen von Menschen. Wissenschaftler*innen sind sich einig: Nur durch eine <strong>Impfung </strong>ist diese Pandemie aufzuhalten.</p> <p>In Rekordzeit entwickeln Forscher*innen überall auf der Welt Impfstoffe gegen das Virus. In Deutschland wird seit einigen Tagen der <strong>mRNA Impfstoff "Comirnaty" von BioNTech/Pfizer </strong>verimpft. Er ist der erste seiner Art auf dem Markt und mit ihm sind viele Hoffnungen verbunden. Hier beantworte ich die wichtigsten Fragen zu Comirnaty: Wie funktioniert der Impfstoff? Ist er sicher?
