How to access websites
<p>How people access websites ?</p> <p><strong>Browsers:</strong></p> <p>You can access websites using software called a web browser. Popular browsers:</p> <p>Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera</p> <p>To view a website you will have to type a web address into the browser or follow the link from another website.</p> <p><strong>Web Servers:</strong></p> <p>When you ask your browser for a web page, the request is sent across the Internet to a special computer known as a <strong>web server </strong>where the website is hosted.</p> <p>Web servers are special computers that are always connected to the Internet, and are optimized to send web pages out to people who request them.</p> <p>Some big companies run their own web servers, but it is more common to use the services of a <strong>web hosting </strong>company who charge a fee to host your site.</p> <p><strong>DevIces</strong></p> <p>People are accessing websites on an increasing range of devices including desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones. It is important to remember that various devices have different screen sizes and some have faster connections to the web than others.</p> <p><strong>screen readers</strong></p> <p><strong>Screen readers </strong>are programs that read out the contents of a computer screen to a user. They are commonly used by people with visual impairments.</p> <p>In the same way that many countries have legislations<br> that require public buildings<br> to be accessible to those with disabilities, many laws have also been passed that require websites be accessible to those with disabilities.</p>

Think about text editor as what we will use to build those amazing websites and software.</p> <p>It is like you need Microsoft Word to type out those letters.</p> <p>You need Powerpoint to work with that presentation. In the same vein, we need a Text Editor, in this case, Visual studio code to create websites, software, and mobile applications.</p> <p><strong>Why do we need Discord?</strong></p> <p>Telegram is how we get you into the door. Discord is where all the fun is going to be. You have access to specialised rooms in this discord channel. So you don’t get confused in a crowded room, we have divided things into categories. We have a room where you can do general introductions, a room where we share tools and resources, and then specialised rooms for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python. We keep adding rooms when we see the need to. We can even jump on an audio call on Discord if we need to.
