Charles Perrault nació en París; 12 de enero de 1628 – 16 de mayo de 1703). Fue abogado y escritor, recopilador de grandes cuentos orales en tierras francesas, denominado el maestro de los cuentos clásicos. Con los Cuentos de Mamá Gansa se adjudicó un puesto seguro en el género de los cuentos de hadas, siendo recordado por obras tan entrañables como Caperucita Roja y Cenicienta, fruto de la recopilación de numerosas leyendas e historias de la tradición oral. Interesante verdad El programa “Lima Lee” de la Municipalidad de Lima tiene el agrado de entregar estas publicaciones a los vecinos de la ciudad con la finalidad de fomentar la buena lectura. La edición contiene 11 cuentos en los que el autor deja siempre un mensaje de valores. los cuales han transcendido a través del tiempo: Caperucita Roja, Cenicienta, El gato con botas, La bella durmiente del Bosque, Barba azul, Las hadas, Riquete del copete, Piel de asno, Los deseos ridículos, Griselda, Meñiquin.
