As a child I was fascinated by the preservation of the past and being able to explore all corners of history within one, single building. Museums sparked my interest in humanities and altered the way in which I view the world. Few places in our world are more educational than museums, a physical embodiment of the past and an entity which makes learning about history accessible to the many and not the few. Through museums we have the ability to observe the past away from a textbook and use artefacts to bring history to life. On #InternationalMuseumDay 2021, I reflect upon the importance of museums and how these organisations have shaped society.</p>
