A Journey of Faith
This Sunday, we're changing things up a little! We're taking a brief pause from our Church for Dummies series to share a very special conversation with someone who has become a beautiful part of our Living Stones family.
Yam Devi Pokharel and her daughter, Namrata, have been such a blessing to our community of faith. Their journey from Nepal to South Bend is a remarkable story of faith, perseverance, and God's goodness, even through seasons of adversity, discouragement, and loss. With Yam Devi preparing to return to Nepal on October 23, we want to take this opportunity to hear more of her story, celebrate God's faithfulness, and remind them just how deeply they are loved.
Last Sunday, as we began our Church for Dummies series, we explored what it means to be the Church.
We were reminded that the Church isn't a building, a Sunday morning event, or an institution we belong to. We are living stones, being joined together by God into something beautiful, a community where His love is made visible.
And this Sunday, we have the opportunity to see what that looks like!
God has woven together the lives of people from different cultures, backgrounds, and parts of the world into one family. We have had the privilege of walking alongside Yam Devi and Namrata, sharing in their joys and sorrows, praying together, and discovering that the family of God extends far beyond the walls of our church or the borders of our country. And while we hope we have been a blessing to them, they have certainly been a blessing to us!
This is the beauty of the Church. We don't simply attend together; we belong to one another. And through these relationships, we discover more of the heart of Jesus and the extraordinary reach of His love.
Join us this Sunday as Yam Devi shares her story, with Namrata joining us on stage, for a special morning of storytelling, encouragement, and prayer as we celebrate God's faithfulness and the gift of belonging to His family.
And don't worry, we haven't forgotten about Church for Dummies! We'll return to Week 2 next Sunday, continuing to wrestle with some of the thoughtful and sometimes difficult questions you've submitted about faith, the Church, and following Jesus.
