2. Historia de la Reserva Natural Canal Luis Peña
<p>Desde los 1980s, la Asociación de Pescadores de Culebra reconoció la importancia de proteger los arrecifes de coral y demás ecosistemas como viveros naturales, para fortalecer los abastos pesqueros de Culebra. Gracias al liderato comunitario y el apoyo multisectorial, el 11 de junio del 1999 el gobierno designó el Canal Luis Peña como reserva natural para conservar la biodiversidad y promover oportunidades socioeconómicas para la comunidad. Hoy, 22 años después conversamos sobre la historia detrás de su designación, directamente con sus protagonistas.</p>
