Porém para se atingir os objetivos almejados é importante seguir os Princípios do Treinamento Desportivo (PTD), que devem ser utilizados tanto nos praticantes corriqueiros de atividades físicas quanto nos atletas de alto rendimento, para que o treino seja elaborado de uma forma que reflita as necessidades do indivíduo e que evite ao máximo os efeitos indesejáveis como lesões musculares, overtraining, entre outros."
