Um estudo sobre os impactos dos biofilmes microbianos nas indústrias
Resumo - O conceito de biofilme tem emergido gradualmente de estudos científicos durante longo período de tempo, porém, nas últimas duas décadas, essa concepção tem avançado consideravelmente. Dentre os tipos de biofilmes, os microbianos tem sido alvo de grande interesse da comunidade científica, se tratando de um ecossistema microbiano complexo e dinâmico, onde os microrganismos de forma organizada aderem a diversos tipos de superfícies ou se estabelecem suspensas em solução. Após a aderência às superfícies, as células começam a se multiplicar, e nesse meio podem estar envolvidas por uma matriz polimérica, formada a partir das células microbianas. Os biofilmes possuem um caráter protetor aos microrganismos, tornando assim uma fonte resistente de contaminação, de modo a muitas vezes não respondendo á tratamento de remoção como, alteração de pH, radiação ultravioleta, variação da pressão osmótica e também contra agentes antimicrobianos. O presente estudo por meio de uma pesquisa de referencial teórica, busca compreender os impactos causados pelos biofilmes microbianos nas indústrias.
