   Ghetto Ass Mamas

This episode of "Mamas We Made It" dives deep into the world of "ghetto ass parenting," a term coined by the hosts, Denise, Britt, and C. Marie, to describe the unique challenges and realities of raising kids in a world where gentle parenting just doesn't seem to cut it. The episode kicks off with the hosts reflecting on their busy week, filled with work, sick kids, and the constant struggle of managing their little "thugs" who just won't seem to sit still. They lament the high cost of daycare and the difficulties of finding providers who truly love and care for their children. The conversation then transitions to the complexities of raising kids in a modern world, highlighting the differences between their upbringing and the expectations placed on them as parents. They discuss the overwhelming challenges of overstimulation, the constant struggle for personal space, and the constant need to navigate the fine line between allowing freedom and setting boundaries. The episode also features a humorous yet insightful exploration of the differences in parenting styles between their generation and their parents, with stories of their childhood antics and the ways their mothers responded. This leads to an open and honest discussion about their parenting styles, acknowledging that they are products of the "ghetto ass parenting" they’re trying to break the cycle of. The episode wraps up with a lighthearted pick of the week's song, Big Sean's "On Up," serving as a reminder to listeners that even during the chaos, mamas, we made it!
